The Anna House Master Plan

Subject: Flash Update Anna House Construction February 10
I hope you had a chance to see it. There was a traffic jam of cement trucks waiting to deliver their liquid load for the new front vestibule and the remainder of the east tower floor slab. Even with the chilly weather, there was a good size team of workers smoothing out the new surface. The new chapel had its floor poured earlier in the week and is curing under black tarps.
At the same time, the ironworkers are taking the steel from the crane and securing it with bolts – as calmly as if they were putting a bicycle together, except they’re 30 feet in the air. The entire 3 story west tower structure should be assembled in a few days.
The electricians have been busy inside too. They are ready to make the connection from the current mechanical room to the new conduit for Anna House. To make the connection, the hall by the gift shop will be blocked for a week to dig a trench across the hall. Foot traffic in the hallway will be rerouted through a temporary “hall” through the gift shop. As a result, the gift shop will be closed until further notice.
Speaking of the hall between the gift shop and the Veronica House lobby, more of the windows will be removed and boarded up for the protection of those walking through the hall. You’ll still get a peek at the work through the thick plexi-glass cut outs. Safety is continuing to be a top priority.
Please keep the project in your prayers. Anytime you have any questions about the construction, please contact me or you can check out www.thesarahcommunity.org and view the construction camera photos.
